Why should I use FindIsland instead of Google?
FindIsland delivers the same results as Google. But when you use FindIsland, you are receive an entry into a monthly contest to win a prize like an XBox!
But I like the look of Yahoo! Can I see news, stock and sports information on my FindIsland page?
In the near future, we will implement customizable front pages, that can include any information you want and mimic the look of your favorite search engine. (Our favorite is FindIsland)
What about image, news and media searches?
Again, we will implement those in the near future. Unfortunately, entries will only be awarded for web searches.
How many Entries can I get?
As many as you want! But we have to limit to 10 entries per hour from Search, and 30 entries per day from Search. Once other methods of receiving entries are introduced, you can earn as many entries as you want.
I don't want this month's prize. Can I get something else?
Sure! A week before the drawing, we'll ask you how many entries you want to put into the drawing. If you don't want the prize, save your entries for the next drawing—and increase your chances of getting something you want. When weekly drawing are introduced, the same method of deciding how many entries to deposit into a drawing will be employed.
How many Searches can I do per day?
As many as are physically possible, assuming of course you'll have to leave the computer for some life needs like food, work, bathroom usage, social interaction, etc… But you can only get entries credit for 10 searches and hour, and 30 searches a day.
Why can I only get 30 points from Searching per day?
This rule is in place to discourage users from using automated “bots” to conduct searches. Unfortunately, a few bad apples can ruin a good web site, and we'd like to make FindIsland fair for everyone
Do I have to pay Shipping and Handling?
Nope! It's on the house.
I live outside of the U.S. Can you still ship to me?
Unlike other giveaways, YES!! But you will have to pay a nominal fee to cover additional shipping and handling expenses.
Will I get spam if I sign up for FindIsland?
NO! Unless you sign up for some of our excellent, screened third-party offers, you will get nothing you don't want in your inbox. We will occasionally contact you about upcoming drawings and times to deposit entries for drawings, but you will rarely hear from us. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
Will you track my Searches?
Of course not! I'm offended that you even asked. Our searches are conducted through Google. We don't even know what you were looking for. So feel free to search for anything from “men's high heel boots” to “pet gorilla grooming techniques.” No one will know. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
What are my chances of winning?
Well, that depends. Every month, one entry is picked from the pot of all entries deposited into that drawing. If you deposit 1000 entries and 10,000 entries total are deposited, you have a 10% chance of winning. If you deposit 100 entries and 100,000 entries total are deposited, you have a 1% chance of winning.
How will I know of I win?
We will contact as soon as you win via email. Please use a valid email address when you sign up or we will not be able to contact you. If you do not respond within three (3) days to our email confirmation, we will contact via your alternate contact information (phone numbers, address, alternate email address).Good Luck!
